Building work has re-started at the University of Surrey for the Health Technology Accelerator (HTA) which is due to open in November.
The Academy is representing Surrey Heartlands in a consortium led by Surrey and Borders Partnership for this HTA. It has been made possible by capital investment from Enterprise M3, the Local Enterprise Partnership, and in kind resource contributions from partners, which include Kent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) and the University of Surrey.
The Accelerator aims to speed up the research and development of promising start-up companies’ innovations and then advance the uptake and economic growth of well-evidenced, beneficial and good value solutions. Together with the AHSN, the Academy is identifying clinical priorities where change leaders are looking for health technology products to accelerate pathway improvement.
“The Academy’s role is to link the Surrey Heartlands workforce into the Accelerator projects and grow a community of innovators to support product development projects,” said Academy Innovation Delivery Manager Jackie Fribbens.
“We’d like to link up with colleagues in innovation roles across the system so they can take advantage of the digital innovation testing that the Health Technology Accelerator offers as part of service improvement projects. If you’d like to get involved please email me.”
